Think about this

Narrator: So think about this: What happens when you make something illegal, that is just a natural part of the world? You may as well make flies illegal, or sweat, or Monday morning. But that's what the king did, out of a terrible sadness.

- The Tale of Despereaux

(By the way, the narrator is Sigourney Weaver, who has (among other acts) appeared the Death and the Maiden, a movie by Roman Polanski, that I have recently watched and deeply enjoyed.)

PS.
Manager: Despereaux, why do you think you are in school?
Despereaux: To learn?
Manager: To leran, yes. To learn what?
Despereaux: To learn to ..... be a ...... mouse, Sir.
Manager: That is correct. And you can't be a mouse if you don't learn to be afraid. Oh, Despereaux, there are so many wonderful things in the life to be afraid of, if you just learn how scary they are.
Despereaux: Yes, yes Sir.

Despereaux: Once upon a time. That's great, isn't it?... upon a time ... and they don't even tell you what time that is yet. It's like you have to find that out.

Narrator: ... He even loved things he wouldn't suspect. The story said she was a prisoner, but that wasn't totally true, because She had hope, and whenever you have hope, you are never really anybody's prisoner.
